The Romans trucking legacy began in 1926 in North Loup, Nebraska, when Charles Romans started hauling milk for local farmers. What began as a small, local operation quickly grew into a family-run freight business serving communities across central Nebraska.
In 1939, the second generation took the reins and expanded services to include livestock, mail, dressed beef, ice, and general freight. The company’s pioneering spirit was firmly established in 1952 when the Romans family completed the first-ever cattle haul to Fairbanks, Alaska via the Alcan Highway, an eight-day journey that became part of company history.
A new chapter began in 1973 when the company relocated to Omaha, Nebraska. From its Omaha headquarters, the business expanded into refrigerated transportation and U.S. Mail hauling, laying the foundation for decades of reliable mail and logistics service.
In 2002, the U.S. Mail division was formally established as Alpha Mail Carriers, Inc., with a singular focus on Contract Mail Delivery. Today, Alpha Mail Carriers is headquartered in Omaha and proudly operates as a dedicated U.S. Mail contractor, built on nearly a century of transportation experience.

Safety Director
Kevin holds two bachelor’s degrees from Northwest Missouri State University and an MBA from Bellevue University. He has 30 years of experience in corporate safety, with the past 25 years dedicated to the trucking industry. A Council Bluffs, Iowa native and lifelong Husker fan, Kevin enjoys sports, reading, and spending time with his family.

Maintenance Director
Bob began his career in Omaha, Nebraska, earning his degree from the University of Nebraska before entering the trucking industry in 1988 with Utility Trailer. He quickly distinguished himself, earning the company’s national “Top Gun” sales award. Bob later served as General Manager for MidStates Utility Trailer, working with some of the nation’s largest fleets. He joined Alpha Mail Carriers in 2019, overseeing maintenance and ensuring safe, reliable operations for both company and partner fleets.
Operations Manager
Part of the fifth generation of the Romans family to work in the transportation industry, Dan graduated from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln and served four years on active duty in the U.S. Air Force before joining Alpha Mail Carriers full-time in 2017. He is married with one stepson and enjoys sports, camping, the outdoors, reading, and spending time with family and friends.

Brian graduated from the University of Nebraska in 2013 with a degree in Finance and has spent 11 years with Alpha Mail Carriers. He brings financial insight and deep operational experience to the organization, supporting disciplined growth and long-term stability. Outside of work, Brian enjoys golfing and spending time camping with his family.
